I am (kind of) an open book (AKA “The post where I promise to answer the questions you ask with a modicum of wit and self deprecation”) September 14, 2006

Apparently I get an itch every six or seven months to open the floor for questions. In case you have not noticed, I am a touch extroverted and I like to share. Also, as I am on mandatory rest this weekend, which means no men, no drinking, no going out, no eating out, no parties, no shoe shopping, no anything fun except for DVDs and orange juice and soup. Responsible Me has grounded Wild Child Me for letting Us get so fatigued.

So you asking me questions is really just a way for me to have something to blog about without having to actually leave my apartment or stop watching Grey’s Anatomy, the McDreamy/McSteamy/McVet Season or risk doing something that involves make-up, a flat iron and a bra.

Plus, I know people have questions – I always have questions for bloggers I read, but it seems in appropriate to just blurt them out. I am giving you permission to blurt them out.

So rack your brains for good questions and leave them in the comments. I reserve the right to not answer them should I think they are too personal or mean-spirited. Yes, the PR person in me knows that “No Comment” equals “Guilty” or “You caught me!” or “Bite me.”

Yet the woman in me doesn’t care.

Previous question-and-answer sessions can be found here and here, so go see what y’all (the Royal Y’all, my reading public) have already asked me.

Will you hang out with me if you’re ever in Atlanta sometime? :D

Ok so you know I was going to ask something, I only read one blog really,(yours) unless someone posts on mine (hint)and this may sound strange but I have been trying to figure out what you look like. And all I keep coming up with is Rachel Ray from the food network…(she’s hot by the way) It’s the southern thing and personality, for some reason I keep coming back to her? So the question is: What celebrity do people say you look like? (it’s good not really knowing…)

My first question is more of a comment: you should talk more about what you read. Well so I guess it’s also a question, which is: what do you read? Throw a title out there when you come across something worthwhile, maybe even a mini-review here and there. I think the clarity and lack of pretension in your writing would make it good for that sort of thing.

The other question is about me, but I figured I’d ask since you say you like the excuse to talk about clothes. What can a 22-year old male wear that looks good? I’ve fished opinions from local females on my garb, but I wouldn’t mind having an opinion from someone a little more…cosmopolitan, I guess? Something like that.
Here’s the wardrobe in essence:
Beat-up light jeans, khakis, black corduroys, navy slacks as pants
Mainly solid polos as short-sleeve shirts (gray, navy, green, black) with a few standard solid t-shirts
Light blue oxford (checkered) and I guess…olive? solid oxford
Black, dark green, and navy sweaters. Reddish-purplish long-sleeve shirt
Solid dark brown sneakers with a pair of stripes on the side

That sound alright? Tell me how to jazz things up on a grad student’s “living” wage.

Love your blog.

You’ve got the worst pick-up lines answered. How about the best? What have guys done to knock you off your feet or open well?

Thanks,
Jim

How many people have you dated for more than three months? Also, do you find it easy to find attraction to people of the opposite sex?

I’ve read your blog for a while now and I’ve been wondering these particulars.

9. Kalli - September 17, 2006

Your blog is great!

Do your family/friends read your blog?

10. Amity - September 18, 2006

I just want to know what the status is with The Nurse. It’s like a soap opera that I love and haven’t been able to watch lately. Is it over? Is it still hanging on? I must know! Thanks for sharing all your trial and tribulations. You’re a great read!

11. Silvs - September 18, 2006

Amity, you read my mind. This morning I was stuck in the train .. and Don’t ask why, I started to wonder, What happened to the NURSE has he text her? Tried to call her ? Anything .. and I was coming to post that same question..
On a side note - NYC transit sucks!
And yes, I know this is not a message board .. just an FYI :)

i need to go back and read the other Q&A sessions to make sure i’m not asking a duplicate question. so for now, i will ask, have you ever watched Nip/Tuck? it is my new obsession and if you have to watch DVDs anyway, you might as well give it a whirl. it’s awesome. i’m watching the 2nd season DVDs right now.

plus, if you start watching it, then we can discuss the episodes over email. :)
it’s on Tuesdays at 10pm on FX.

but if you miss it, they replay it again on sundays at 10pm.

ok, i will think of a more interesting question….i know!

Do you think i should open up my floor to questions?? i have never done that.

Do you think of yourself being attractive? Do you ever wonder why you ‘re not the one getting married with the prince of your life instead of your BFE?

15. L'Austin Translation - September 20, 2006

If you were ordering your last meal on earth and it could be ANYTHING- even something homemade or something that isn’t even made anymore… what would it be?

Feel free to include apetizer, as many courses as you want, dessert, and drinks.

McSteamy, or McVet?
Diamonds or Pearls?
What is the funkiest piece of underwear you own?
What is the worse thing you did in high school that you feel guilty about even now?
Have you ever stolen something and if so what?
If you were stuck on a deserted island, which food could you not live without?
