I LOVE Kate Havnevik and Imogem Heap!!!

2. Autumn - November 28, 2006

As long as we’re admitting to things, I’ll admit to listening to 80s hair bands! And who says “Mack the Knife” is bad? I don’t see anything wrong with it, but then, it does get played rather frequently on my iPod.

3. kat - November 28, 2006

How can you leave out “Fergilcious”??? That song is cheese-tastic!

4. Jess - November 28, 2006

Having Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on the list provides an inkling of indie cred.

And sometimes there’s nothing like some bad pop music to make your day a little brighter.

5. Malnurtured Snay - November 28, 2006

So very many of those I have never even heard of. I’m getting old! I’m only 28!

6. Rees26 - November 28, 2006

Kat, you took the words right out of my mouth… uh… out of my keyboard?

Fergalicious rules. (I’ve come to terms with this fact.)

7. Anonymous - November 28, 2006

This is scary. . I’m 26, and I only recognised Irreplaceable on the list. Oh, to be hip and aware. . .

8. Beth - November 28, 2006

It must be something to do with the time of year, but I’m playing Cornflake Girl by Tori Amos to death at the moment.

I’d forgotten all about it, then I had one of those “Oh my god, how could I forget that amazing song!” epiphanies and made my way straight to iTunes!!

9. Marcy - November 28, 2006

Ican’t seem to be able to get enough of the new Killers cd, especially When You Were Young.

10. jo - November 28, 2006

i’m not a jessica simpson fan but i admit that i sorta like her ‘i belong to me’ song even though i hate the video. seriously she looks deranged in that video haha!

11. NML - November 29, 2006

I don’t recall a lot of these songs which is kinda scary if they’re pop! Not so sure about that Beyonce tune but love Lilly Allen. LDN is my favourite though.

12. Single Girl - November 29, 2006

How about “Maneater” by Nelly Furtado? So cheesy, but I can’t help but dance and sing to it whenever it’s on.

13. Tilly - November 29, 2006

Imogen is so fun live…it’s amazing how she loops the tracks and makes all of the sounds herself. Clap Your Hands live is, well, another story. At least when I saw them it was–the keyboardist was out of his mind and they basically had to end the set early.

You should check out Zero7 and Sia.

I wouldn’t mind having that playlist on my pod.

14. bee-spot - November 29, 2006

Fidelity’s (Regina Spektor)great! I second Zero 7.

15. Cute Jewess - November 29, 2006

Kellie Pickler? Really? I’m ready for the Idol to be back, though. And that scares me a bit.

16. charming, but single - November 29, 2006

Yes, Kellie Pickler. My little sister made me listen to it. It is catchy. And about shoes.

And I love American Idol. I am a loser.

17. havemycake - December 1, 2006

had a brief fling with one of your *bad* indie pop stars, all because i was out front seeking tickets to a sold out show…it was a fling, not a groupie thing, but mums the word to protect the guilty ;)

18. Anonymous - December 3, 2006

havemycake, you immediately went on the guy’s tour bus and then drove six hours the next day to the band’s next gig and you’re not a groupie? okay then. at least you’re proud of it and never feel guilty ;)

19. Jakob - December 8, 2006

I saw Clap Your Hands at the Roskilde Festival in July, and it was one of the nicer discoveries of this year.

Apart from that, I only know Tori Amos, and she’s cool.

Are the rest of the names only known in the U.S., or am I an old git?

20. Jakob - December 8, 2006

Sure, I know beyonce and Jessica ‘crybaby’ Simpson.
