I finally got my BadGal Blue in the mail. (In the world’s largest packaging, really. It was a whole hell of a lot of packaging for a small tube of mascara.)

I have mixed feelings. It just seems so … violet.

How do you ladies wear this? Over black mascara? With thick eyeliner?

I really want to love this product, I do. I bought into the hype, hook, line and sinker. I mean, my Benefit counter here literally cannot keep the stuff in stock. But I’m going to need some advice because my lashes do not look as plump and fantastic as I’d hoped, my eyes don’t appear that much more blue and/or bright and I kind of feel like I’ve stepped into the 70s.

Am I doing something wrong? Was today just a fluke?

I wanna say I remember a tip for wearing blue mascara where you use regular black first, and then apply the blue just to the tips of your lashes. Haven’t ever tried it out myself, though, so don’t know how it looks or what it really does.

I’m just glad I’m not a chick. But if I was….. /wandering mind

I put on a coat of BadGal black first, and then a light coating of BadGal Blue over it, once the black coat dries. It’s kinda just like your little secret that you have on BLUE mascara, but then the light catches it every so often and it’s like BAM!

I don’t know if that sounds any more appealing.

After reading your original post about BadGal Blue, I called myself “sucka” and bought one too. I’m with tiff. Black first, then blue. It’s not nearly as voluminous as I’d hoped. And it doesn’t seem to make my eyes bluer.

I think if the mascara looks too violet it doesn’t do anything for the bluer eye effect. If anything purple is used for brown eyed girls to make their eyes pop

I’m with everyone else. Never tried it, but from everything I’ve read, you put black mascara on first and then just put the blue stuff on either just on the tips or as a second coat. And from what I know, purple is supposed to make brown eyes pop. I have brown eyes and have recently started using a purple eyeliner and it’s really made my brown eyes look like a deeper shade of brown, really pretty!

Hope this helps! If all else fails, go to Sephora and ask there!

hmmm. have you tried pairing it with navy eyeliner? how does it look by itself — freaky weird bluish purple? or kinda cool? i saw a magazine spread once where the models had on matching eyeliner/mascara, and it really looked cool. my point is, maybe the mascara alone just isn’t enough. have you tried putting on black eyeliner and then dabbing blue eyeshadow over the black eyeliner? that can look really cool. good substitute if you don’t have navy eyeshadow. hmm. now i am curious. will have to buy some blue mascara and play….

if you really want to make your eyes look blue, try some pink eyeshadow. especially something in a berry shade. estee lauder makes one called berry ice, i think. it’s awesome for blue eyes.

don’t ditch the mascara yet — navy colored things make the whites of your eyes look whiter. maybe save the bad gal blue for mornings when you’re tired??

i will let you know if i think of anything else. hope something here helps. think the other girls are right — regular mascara first, let it dry, then do the blue.

I love blue mascara! i have blue eyes and it does make them look brighter! I don’t pay $19 for mine though. I use Max Factor’s new line and it’s awesome. I love how it separates my eye lashes and i don’t get the weird flakes. Maybe, it’s a darker shade of blue than the one you tried…

I’ve been thinking about trying this out… even was standing in line at Sephora with it in my hand and then I wondered how I could pull it off without looking too ’70’s ish. Good to get some tips on how to put it on…
