Everyone has their own definition of what officially starts the holiday season. The wearing of a certain sweater, the end of Halloween, Target selling Christmas ornaments, an almost primal urge to eat pumpkin or, perhaps, needing to toss a fleece blanket on the bed.
And while all of these things are certainly nice, for me there is one thing and one thing only that officially kicks off the holidays – seeing Christmas Beer at the grocery store.
So it is with great excitement that I announce that on 2:22 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, I spied with my little eye a shelf of Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale, which just warmed my holiday-loving heart. (Much later than last year, actually. I’ve been too busy!)

Are you ready for the traditional Festivus “Airing of the Grievances”? I’d put up an aluminum pole here for the event, but my roommates outvoted me and wanted a Christmas Tree instead.

I think the holiday season starts when I hear the first Cajun & Zydeco ‘Holiday Music’ on the local radio. (WRFG), and not so coincidently about a week after I can safely shut down the AC in the car.
And the ceremonial “Airing of the Grievances”? Geez, this happens all the time around here! But Oktoberfest Beers is something we always keep a watch out for. Cheers, ‘VJ’
